Description

The Cantho City Tour is an original. Our tours are based on research we have done throughout the city. We have talked to older people, monks, former politicians and people just living around the corner to gain insights into our city’s history. We continue to research in books and documents that are made available to us. Many of the facts presented on the tour are not yet covered by travel books and standard tour operators.

On the tours you will learn about the history of Can Tho, discover unknown sights of interest and dive into Canthos exciting historic turns which you will find in no travel guide. You will visit Canthos old prison, learn about the head of city during French colonial times, understand more about the Vietnam war, the communist regime and the implications the historic events brought to people’s life in Cantho. You will also meet the local librarian in the Can Tho library, see the daily activities at Can Thos biggest market and meet monks in the Quang Duc Pagoda.

And you will get many questions answered. Why do so many streets and places have a different name today? What is the longest street in the Mekong-Delta? Where can I eat real local food? Why aren’t there many photos from the time before 1975 on display? And many more questions..

The Guides

Our tour guides are young and friendly. The tours give you the chance to understand the Vietnamese – Mekong – way of life and get to know the Mekong-Delta through the eyes of a local. All of our guides have a good command of English and have graduated from university or are in their final year.
